It was just one year ago that a top-to-bottom renovation was completed on this ocean-front home on Daufuskie Island, SC. It was gorgeous then, but its brand new owners wanted to raise the bar, and...wow!...did they hit the mark! The acclaimed Atlanta-based White Dog Home decorators worked their magic, and the result is nothing short of breathtaking.
The Secret Beach Cottage looks directly onto the Atlantic Ocean and is a mere 90-second walk from the sandy and secluded Melrose Beach.
A bright and airy open floor plan greets you when you enter the cottage. The living room, kitchen and dining areas all flow together under high ceilings and are punctuated with coastal art and special touches. And the view!! Your first glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean will alone make your trip worthwhile! Attractive and durable outdoor furniture can be found on a screened porch that will beckon you all day long.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped and perfect for family meals. The living room includes a 50" mounted flat screen TV with cable and smart TV features. (Cottage guests also benefit from a fiber optics high-speed internet system.)
Gather together for your meals in the dining nook, be a little more casual as you perch on your kitchen counter bar stools, or...maybe best of all!....steal away to your oceanfront screened porch.
Each of the five bedrooms has unique decorating touches, and all guests will love their peaceful and beautiful nighttime surroundings. There are actually four master bedrooms, three with a king bed and ensuite bathroom, the fourth with two queen beds and an ensuite bathroom. The crown jewel is the "king master" which features a lovely reading area and a private screen porch...perfect for enjoying your morning coffee while watching the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean.
The 5th bedroom is very special! It does not have an ensuite bathroom, but there is a hallway/guest bathroom directly across from it. This bedroom has a queen bed, a desk for writing postcards or for virtual work/school, and is simply pretty as a picture!
The cottage includes a laundry room with a full size washer and dryer, an outside wooden walkway leading to a gas grill, and even an outdoor shower with sides...but open to the sky! (DO try taking a summer night shower with nothing between you and the stars!)
Oh…by the way!…we wouldn’t dream of keeping your canine family member from joining you on Daufuskie. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. (A pet fee will apply.)
