There are many interesting places to visit on Daufuskie, including the locations described below. Upon check-in with Daufuskie Rental Group you will be provided a map that has shopping, dining, and other places of interest marked for your convenience.

Daufuskie Rum Company

Opened in early 2015, the Daufuskie Rum Company (270 Haig Point Road) is a micro-distillery that makes authentic, American made hand-crafted rum.

To schedule a tour call 843-342-4786 or email Distillery and store hours are 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Wednesday - Saturday.

Iron Fish Art Gallery

The Iron Fish Art Gallery is always open, even if its resident artist, Chase Allen, is not present. Chase has been featured in numerous Southern and Coastal Living publications and recently won a national “American Made” contest sponsored by the Martha Stewart magazine. Lots of interesting things to see here, and visitors enjoy exploring his art work in his outdoor gallery area. Chase also sells cool T-shirts and a few other items. .

Daufuskie Wine & Woodworks

Daufuskie Wine & Woodworks is located on the north end of the island next to Freeport Marina. This business is located in a beautifully designed post and beam barn, which can also be rented for private events and gatherings. The woodworking shop is concentrated on building wooden kayaks, surfboards, canoes, and paddle-boards. The organic wine shop operates out of an attached building where they curate many wines and craft beers.

Generally open on Saturdays, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Daufuskie Blues

Daufuskie Blues is an indigo and natural dye studio which is generally open Monday - Saturday afternoons and is located at the historic Mary Fields School on School road. Come see how Leanne and Rhonda make beautiful scarves and other items.

Daufuskie Peach

Daufuskie Peach offers hand-crafted bath and body products made of natural and organic products. Located in the rear of the house at 228 School Road, the shop is generally open in the afternoons, Monday - Saturday.

Silver Dew Pottery

The Silver Dew Pottery opens for the season on Tuesday, April 30th and remains open through October. This studio is run by Lancy and Emily Burn, longtime Daufuskie residents. You can hear some fascinating stories about the island's history from the Burns during your visit to this shop.

The hours for the Silver Dew Pottery are 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday from May - October. It is located at 111 Benjie's Point Road.

Freeport General Store

The Freeport General Store is located at the Freeport Marina (which includes the Old Daufuskie Crab Company) and carries snacks, soda, bottled water, and tourist gifts. The store also has an ATM (the only one on the island, and the service fee is very high) and an ice machine. You can usually find some basic food items here, but we don’t recommend you count on the store for any groceries that you really need/want at your vacation home.
